City of Orange Beach, Alabama

Orange Beach, Alabama, is located in Baldwin County on the Alabama Gulf Coast, 56 miles from Mobile and 35 miles from Pensacola. The permanent population of Orange Beach is 5,300, but summer and winter visitors to the area number in the tens of thousands. The city is home port to the largest charter fishing fleet on the Gulf Coast. In the last five years, the city has invested in some of the finest facilities and public access recreational amenities. The Orange Beach SportsPlex and the Orange Beach Recreation Center rival any in the Southeast. A full length Aquatics Center with lap swim and diving well along with the Tennis Center and its eight hard surface courts attract serious and recreational athletes. The waterfront park complete with fishing pier on Wolf Bay offers the perfect sunset viewing. A waterfront Public Library and Senior Activity Center offer programs for residents and guests of all ages. An available 300 seat Community Center is home to many special events.

Orange Beach is home to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Womens Soccer Championship, NAIA Softball Invitational's and Regional Championships, World Championship Powerboat Offshore Racing and much more. The City Orange Beach turned 20 years old in 2004 and is one of the fastest growing cities in the region.

Natural surroundings and protection of our environment is a high priority. One of the few remaining Maritime Forests in the country is within the city limits and the Alabama Coastal Birding Trail offers several viewing posts. A designated Backwater Canoe Trail and the Catman Road walking / biking trail are gaining much popularity. Sugar white sandy beaches are the primary draw to Pleasure Island.
