Junior Lifeguard Course -
The Junior Lifeguard Course began in the summer of 2006. During the program, participants learn vital skills in all areas of water rescue. Students are instructed in the use of swim fins, rescue boards, rescue tubes, surf entry and porpoising. They also learn how to perform safe open water rescues and are taught CPR and First-aid to further emphasize safety and promote self-confidence. Physical training is conducted daily, which consists of open water swims, run-swim-runs, tube drags and conditioning runs.

2011 Junior Lifeguard Program
Registration begins April 18. Ages 9 - 16. This course is designed to teach the participant about water safety and basic pool and beach lifeguard procedures. There is instruction on proper swimming technique, water survival, water rescues and nutrition. Course fee is $100.00 for members and $110.00 for non-members. Cost includes: Course materials, certificate, stroke development and self-assurance.
